International activities

INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION

International cooperation is one of the NMRRC’s top priorities, contributing to the maintenance of highly qualified specialists, to improving the quality of health care, the development of promising scientific fields in oncology, radiology and urology, the establishment and maintenance of the Center contacts with educational, scientific and medical institutions of CIS and foreign countries, international and national organizations, societies and associations.
International cooperation is coordinated by the International Relations Division of NMRRC.

Cooperation with international organizations

NMRRC’s cooperation with international organizations is based on expert activities, communication, participation in events and conferences. Experts of the Center have memberships of several international organizations of oncologists, radiologists and urologists. Major partners are World Health Organization (WHO), the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) under the World Health Organization, International Agency for Atomic Energy (IAEA), United Nations Scientific Committee on the Effects of Atomic Radiation (UNSCEAR), the Organization of European Cancer Institutes (OECI), etc.,

Cooperation with clinics

NMRRC successfully conducts joint research with foreign universities, scientific and clinical centers, the National Academy of Sciences, teams of scientists of Belarus, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Italy, France, Germany, USA, Japan, the Netherlands, Canada, Australia. The Centre is involved in multi-center clinical trials, multicenter randomized study on the efficacy and safety of drugs. Scientific research develops in joint research projects and studies, clinical trials, teaching and training of professionals, conducting conferences and workshops, sharing of experience, scientific data exchange. Particular attention is paid to work on keeping the Chernobyl tissue bank, together with the London Imperial College (the United Kingdom ). The Center's specialists are the members of more than 20 scientific and professional societies, organizations and associations.

International cooperation is coordinated by NMRRC Department for International Relations

Much attention is paid to participation in international congresses, conferences and workshops, such as the IARC sessions, IAEA conference, annual OECI congresses, European Association of Urology (EAU) congresses. Over the last five years NMRRC staff specialists have undergone internships in clinics of France, Germany, USA, Sweden, Hungary, the Netherlands, Switzerland and other countries.
Every year a number of international events are organized by NMRRC branches, such as the Congress of the Russian Oncourology Society, Interdisciplinary Congress on Head and Neck Tumors, A. Saenko International School for Young Researchers, scientific and practical conferences with international attendance on the problems of photodynamic therapy, the development of nuclear medicine, etc. These events are attended by hundreds and thousands of participants from the CIS and other foreign countries, as well as international experts.
