Since 2017, Dr. Shegai leads the Center for Innovative Radiological and Regenerative Technologies, subordinate to NMRRC. The Center manages all experimental sites of the Federal State Budgetary Institution NMRRC, of the Ministry of health of Russian Federation.
Dr.Shegai is a highly qualified surgeon in the field of laparoscopic Oncology and Urology, using the most advanced methods of surgical interventions.
Dr.Shegai applies organ-preserving laparoscopic interventions by performing
kidney cancer treatment, reconstructive plastic surgery for bladder cancer, and also surgical interventions for prostate, testicular and penile cancer.
In 2003, Petr Shegai graduated from the I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University (Sechenov University), Medical Department full-time course, specializing on "Medical Treatment".
2004 – 2007 Petr Shegai completed a PhD full time Oncourology course at the P. Hertsen Moscow Oncology Research Institute, a branch of NMRRC, Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation.
In the period of 2008 -2014 P.Shegai performed the assistant of the Oncology Department of the I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University (Sechenov University), based on P. Hertsen Moscow Oncology Research Institute.
2014 – 2017 Dr.Shegai performed a researcher in the Department of Urinary and Reproductive Organ Tumors of P. Hertsen Moscow Oncology Research Institute, a branch of NMRRC .
2019 Within the “Institute of Public Administration and Civil Service, Russian Presidential Academy”, P.Shegai completed a Master course with the thesis “Medical care efficiency and quality managing in modern Russia”.
Regularly participates in professional international congresses abroad and in Russia. As member of the Russian delegation, Dr.Shegai participates in the preparation and performance of international meetings and negotiations on scientific cooperation between the Russian Federation and organizations in Japan, the Republic of Korea, China, the Czech Republic, Germany and Italy.
Dr.Shegai is an author of 153 articles in the Central press, including publishing ventures, recommended by Council of the Higher Attestation Committee (HAC), RF. Among them are:
- Atlas of operations;
- chapters in 3 monographs;
- 45 scientific articles, including 5 - Q1 and 2 - Q3 articles;
- 98 invention patents, databases and computer programs.
