On July 25, Moscow doctors and volunteers were awarded diplomas, honorary signs and medals of the Russian Red Cross for services to society in the implementation of the ideas of humanism and compassion for people, as well as selflessness in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. Honorary awards were received by 100 doctors, nurses and volunteers of Moscow, including the nurses of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "NMITs of Radiology" of the Ministry of Health of Russia, who are members of the ROOMS Association in Moscow - Natalia Yurievna Zarubina - Chief Nurse of the P.A. Herzen, Volkova Tatyana Borisovna - nurse of the department of high-dose chemotherapy with a bone marrow transplantation unit, P.A. Herzen and Pinina Elena Yurievna - Senior Nurse of the Endoscopy Department of the P.A. Herzen.
The solemn event began with a minute of silence in honor of the memory of the dead doctors and patients from COVID-19. In his welcoming speech, Igor Trunov, chairman of the Moscow branch of the Russian Red Cross, noted that every time has its own heroes. “Today, our heroes wear protective suits. For several months we have appreciated the colossal contribution of doctors and volunteers to the victory over the insidious enemy. Despite the mortal risk, sleepless 24/7 shifts and a seven-day schedule, they save lives by doing their duty. We know and appreciate their work. " He also said that the Red Cross is creating the International COVID-19 Memory Book with the names of medical heroes around the world.
