Oncopatrol in Kursk revealed 28 suspicions of cancer

The All-Russia action “Oncopatrol” summed up the results of work in Kursk, which has become the 6th region of the project. Within two days on November 19 and 20, 2019 the doctors of FSBI “NMRRC” of the Ministry of Health of Russia, who arrived from Moscow examined and diagnosed oncological diseases for women’s and men’s health on the basis of the largest city-forming enterprise OJSC “Electroagregat”. More than 200 employees took part in the action. Today the company employs 2500 people and the policlinic “Elektroagregat” serves more than 6000 people, including relatives of the company’s employees.

Based on the results of the examinations 28 new cases were identified that required additional extended medical examination, including those with suspected malignant tumors. The “Oncopatrol” action visited Kursk for the first time, but it was agreed that it will be held on a regular basis.

The goal of the “Oncopatrol” is to reveal early forms of malignant tumors in the healthy population and it is conducted for employees of the largest enterprises and factories in cities and regions of Russia. First ones invited to get diagnosis are workers of hazardous industries, as well as those, who have chronic diseases or complaints about health. The Oncopatrol program arranges preventive examinations by gynecologist, mammologist-dermatologist, urologist, thoracic and abdominal surgeon, as well as mammography, ultrasound of thyroid, abdominal cavity and pelvic, PSA blood analysis for men, occult blood test for colorectal cancer for men. The action is organized by FSBI “NMRRC” of the Ministry of Health of Russia with the support of Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Health of Russia, the Association of Russian oncologists, the Administration of Kursk region and the Committee of Health of the Kursk region.

On November 21, 2019, “Oncopatrol” ended with a solemn awareness-raising ceremony for residents of the city of Kursk, which was attended by almost 1000 people. The ceremony was attended by: First Deputy Chairman of the Committee of the Federation Council on Social Policy I.N. Kagramanian, Deputy Governor of Kursk Region I.G. Khmelevskaya, General Director of FSBI “NMRRC” - Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences A.D. Kaprin, the head doctor RBIH “Kursk regional clinical oncology dispensary” I.L. Kiselev, General Director of OAO "Electroagregat" N.S. Shevchenko, Chairman of the All-Russian Association of Oncology patients "Be healthy" I.V. Borovova, of the Voronezh region I.P. Moshurov, chief oncologist of the Samara region A.E. Orlov, specialists of the FSBI “NMRRC” of the Ministry of Health of Russia specialists, who conducted the examinations and the leading performance groups of the Kursk regional state philharmonic society.

As tradition goes, the baton for the next “Oncopatrol” action was passed to the Chief doctor and Chief oncologist of the Ministry of Health in the Samara region - IPE FSBEI HE the SamSMU of the Ministry of Health of Russia A.E. Orlov. The action in Samara will take place from December 4 to 6, 2019.
