"Our words are good, but your deeds are much better."

On August 29, 2020, at the invitation of Vladyka Thomas, Bishop of Sergiev Posad, vicar of the Most Holy Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, a group of doctors of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "NMITs Radiology" of the Ministry of Health of Russia visited the Holy Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius. Here, doctors and nurses who worked with patients with coronavirus were honored.
A sightseeing tour with a visit to the three main temples was conducted especially for them. The guests were able to see the unique architectural ensemble of the Lavra, created over the centuries, and get acquainted with the shrines and sights of one of the most famous Russian monasteries, the largest center of Russian spiritual culture and education.
The excursion ended with a gala dinner, during which doctors and nurses of the Center were awarded with letters of thanks, certificates and memorable gifts for their high professionalism and selfless help.
Our words are good, but your deeds are much better, - with these words Father Philip, the governor of the Lavra, addressed those present. “On this day, when we celebrate the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos, when the next Sunday service begins, I would like to greet and thank you on behalf of the clergy of the church for your painstaking and very necessary work, for the fact that you, not sparing yourself, helped and saved a lot many people. We thank you, because your work is the work of ascetics. "
In turn, Andrei Kaprin, Director General of the Federal State Budgetary Institution National Research Center of Radiology of the Russian Ministry of Health, thanked Vladyka Thomas and Governor Philip for the high assessment of the work of 31 doctors and nurses. “We understand that this work is impossible without faith. It is a great honor for us to receive gratitude from the Church right here, in the Holy Trinity Sergius Lavra. We know that it was from here that Dmitry Donskoy left for battle, we know that the Lavra survived during the assault of the Polish and Lithuanian invaders. And when a new misfortune arose all over the world, with the blessing of the church, with the blessing of the Patriarch, many of our comrades went to work in the “red zone” in the name of saving human lives. Day after day we felt your support and in many ways, thanks to you and your prayers, our medicine managed to overcome one of the most difficult periods of the epidemic ”.
